My photography is informed by Miksang, a photographic practice of direct seeing introduced by Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Using mindful awareness, we experience visual perceptions fully and intimately without distraction. This results in clear and direct images from our camera. Unlike traditional Miksang, a “happy accident” in my film camera transformed my clear image into a dreamy one, rendering the moment romantic and fleeting.
