Photography is my favored medium of expression because with it I can explore a range of ideas from simple to complex. I can capture the very essence of light and shadow, whether in monotone or color, forming abstracted or realistic images, from a single subject to a busy street scene.

My appreciation for the difference between that which my eye sees, and the way a camera records an image, is greatly increased when using film, especially when using a Holga plastic camera - its reputation for quirkiness is not exaggerated! - and I find that delightful.
As much as I love the timeless quality of black and white imagery, I can't live entirely without color - whether muted, subtle, dreamy, or bold and bright, sometimes color is the only choice, either presenting a captured moment of reality or my interpretation of that moment. I find myself returning to past images to rethink and often combine multiple images into a new interpretation. It's an ongoing process that builds on the past into the future.
