I am a painter and a photographer. My paintings and photo works are non-representational. I am interested in invented spaces and not depictions of concrete reality. There may seem to be identifiable subjects in my work, but they are closer to apparitions than to real objects or landscapes.
I believe there is a human desire to find a meaning in things, whether in a work of art or in real events. If an explanation is not apparent, we will invent one. I use visual ambiguity as a way to explore this aspect of human nature.
