Nature is my sanctuary. In these images, I transform nature into a dreamlike, ethereal place to express the serenity I feel in the stillness of natural surroundings. In the best of times, I seek solitude in the natural world to quiet my mind and create time for reflection. In troubled times, I seek solitude in a peaceful, beautiful place for solace, as I try to renew my spirit. I think I also sometimes seek to be hidden, secluded, safe from the outer world.

Each of my images is a composite. Rather than portray the reality of a woman in a real place, I layer and blend together several elements of a natural setting and position a female figure within this to create an expression of my experience in nature. I am among the trees, and the trees are within me. The natural environment becomes a dreamlike sanctuary.
