Photography to me is about seeing and capturing things others may not see.
Like many New Yorkers, I enjoy walking around the city. For many years, due to time pressures, I would walk fast, cut corners and zig zag to my destination to save time. In recent years I have been able to slow down and enjoy long walks. I now have the time to see the city differently. I see things I would not have noticed previously and have added a camera to these walks to record these new sights.
My photography is based on reality but goes beyond the literal. It is presented in an artistic style and allows the viewer to see things a little differently as well. I don’t take street photographs - I create street-inspired fine-art images.
